Lens surgery is covered by most TOP hospital cover when also covered under Medicare (usually for cataracts).<\/p>\n<h2>Can I Claim LASIK Laser Eye Surgery on My Private Health Insurance?<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The cost of laser eye surgery is a significant amount for the average household budget. As such, many people who visit Perth Laser Vision enquire whether part of the cost can be covered by their private health insurance.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Which health funds cover laser refractive eye surgery?<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The good news is that several health funds are now covering part of laser eye surgery costs.\u00a0 This varies with each fund but makes the benefits of this procedure more accessible to patients who wish to stop being reliant on glasses or contact lenses.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-4862 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/103.11.207.10\/~perthlas\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Bupa-logo.jpg\" alt=\"bupa-logo\" width=\"250\" height=\"121\" \/><\/p>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">BUPA:<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Laser eye surgery is fully covered under<strong> BUPA&#8217;s Ultimate Gold<\/strong> hospital cover if their 3 year waiting period has been served.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Many of our patients have had this policy benefit. It requires a <span style=\"display: inline !important; float: none; background-color: #ffffff; color: #333333; cursor: text; font-family: Georgia,'Times New Roman','Bitstream Charter',Times,serif; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: left; text-decoration: none; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px;\">36 month waiting period ( 3 years) for cover.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>This can include LASIK, LASEK and PRK treatment. Benefits are only payable where no Medicare rebate is payable.
